This house is located in a large site near the “Chipinque” National Park. Due to its great presence in the context, the project called for rather sculptural treatment. Considering the diversity of such context, we chose to use the surrounding landscape as an integration guideline, creating a predominantly horizontal project that follows the profile of plateau where it would be built. As counterpointing elements, two vertical towers were designed to contain mechanical equipments.
This house is white and it was decided to be that way in order to achieve an intense of contrast between the volumes and the greens and blues of the nature – exalting the later -. Moreover, having to deal with a hot climate during most of the year, white color provides freshness and relaxation to the inhabitants of this house.
In addition to color treatment, cross ventilation throughout the house and ceiling height ranging from 3 to 4 meters, make this project naturally adapted to its climate during a large part of the year.
all areas on the southern facade take advantage of the wonderful views towards the Sierra Madre, while the dining room and breakfast area overlook an interior courtyard that also helps provide the house with additional light and ventilation. In addition, this space give the privacy and withdrawal needed in order to escape from daily stresses.
