Maria Luisa Albino send her project in furniture design. This project is about a re-design of the Estereo’s sofa, seat that used to be produced by AG Land in the 70′s. AG Land is an office furniture manufacturer based on Barcelona where She is currently doing an internship.

The idea of the re-design was to give it a modern look but keeping its main concept and structure, so She decided to work on materials, finishes and forms! It has wooden structure, which could be lacquered, and leather cushions.

Get into the house, we will be greeted with well arranged living room. One set of sofa placed in the center of this room. Other minimalist furniture also choosen to decorate Hunter House living Room. From this room our eyes will be refresh with the “inner courtyard”, an open space for relax or doing some exercise. With this technique, this house designs has a good air circulation, very suitable with the wheather in this location. Another living room is located in the rear of this courtyard and directly connect to the dinning room. This house designs only has two bedrooms, one in the ground floor and the other which is a master bedroom, located in the first floor.

Darren Carnell Architects description:
From the street this inner city facade is a conspicuous one amongst its more traditional post-war clinker brick neighbours, indicating a ‘dare to be different attitude’. Extensive glazing ensures a desirable response to the city views across parkland to which it sits adjacent to. The house reflects the natural beauty of the red gums that inhabit the parkland both inside and out the home. The grey and white tones of the bushland are expressed through zinc and antique white render as well as reclaimed timber columns. The rich palette of natural timbers and stone flows from the outside in being an essential element to achieve the understated elegance of the home.

A seamless ground plane is achieved by amalgamating the internal spaces with the exterior, creating large flowing areas in which to congregate. The Courtyard is an important element it suggests protection, which is important in Australia’s climate and internalising a space like this also allows you to engage with the exterior and interior simultaneously on all sides.

The upper level acts as the client apartment, housing a master bedroom, his and hers ensuites, robes and a personal retreat. This allows for a degree of intimacy when just the two of them are home.

The young product designer Maria Ignacia Reina, propose a redesign of Jamaica, a chair that had been produced by AG Land for many years. AG Land is an office furniture manufacturer based on Barcelona, where Ignacia is doing an internship.

The idea of the redesign was to keep the structure and the concept of the chair, getting to see a modern chair with few changes. Ignacia enlarges the width of the armrests trying to simplify the shape of it in a continuous line. One of the most interest thing of the project is the variety of colors and materials. The cushions are made of injection molded plastic, transparent to reveal the structure of the seat. The legs of the chair can be aluminum, multilamir wood, lacquered wood and injection molded plastic.

This house design has some challanges that should be overcame by the architects. One of the challenge is ± 9.5 acres hilly land with irregular level pattern. After a long detail discussion with the client, the architects decided to bring this dwelling to the Villa House in the middle of the area. This concept make the master bedroom and living area can also be directly in contact with an open area.

Another interesting thing of this Villa House is the Dining area which is in the outside area. Kitchen, Mini Bar and Lounge Area also available in this area so as to create a comfortable outdoor area to congregate.

For the building itself, The architects make the concept of tall and strong building appear in this project, which is manifested by the hight of the roof of the building and also accompanied by the addition of the top of the grill so that it adds the luxury of this Villa House.

An elaborate collection of sofas, armchairs and tables, whose basic frames and main characteristics are defined but, at the same time, whose geometries and finishes are completely free and totally customizable by the end-user. The large platforms that support sofas and armchairs, are freely configurable, as well as seats and cushions, extremely flexible in their shapes and structural components to allow different degrees of comfort and various uses. The materials used for these sofas are refined and sophisticated: they vary from the woven, decorated or laser-cut leathers by Foglizzo, to the exclusive fabrics of the Saporiti Italia collection, to the mat or high gloss lacquers of the platforms. In the tables too, shapes, finishing and surfaces can be totally customized. Their surfaces can be made in wood or lacquer and they can be decorated and inlayed with refined designs and patterns, made with traditional techniques and materials, such as wood or precious metals, but also with innovative metals, such as steel, aluminium, titanium.

The product designer Maria Ignacia Reina, that is now doing an internship for AG Land, an office furniture manufacturer based on Barcelona, had developed this table following the Mac’s style. This project aims to make the furniture interact with Apple devices. It has an entry for ipad, ipod or iphone to charge the battery and to reproduce music from the aluminum speakers. Shows a Z-shaped profile that give you the possibility to rest your feet and it is ergonomically comfortable. Both in the support area of the feet as in the work area top, is placed black colored soft touch as a non-slip material. The table is made of multi laminar wood lacquered with a glossy black finish.

Cardboard Bedroom Design

Cardboard bedroom is designed by Hans Peter Stange from Stange Design Factory, Australia. Specialist company which produce furniture from cardboard material. The thickness of cardboard used for bedroom material is about 1 cm thick. Hans fold and form the cardboard become strong bedroom structure with special technique. One part connect to another part and both are locked each other.

This bedroom is very environment friendly, because cardboard is bio degradable material or can be recycled for another uses.
