Lake House, we named it because of its location that surround a lake. Designed by Frederico Valsassina Architects and toke place in Aroeira, Portugal. A big house with two floors which explore the beauty of the surrounding views. That’s way this house is dominated by large glass windows and walls.
Lake house try to synergy with the Main Lake Golf Course in the Aroeira. The interplay between the remote to contiguous lots and surrounding trees resulted the deployment and disposition of the Lake House’s spaces. The client want to create a house that accommodate the different hostilities’s autonomy; public or private, day or night; by creating a terrace which connect to the pool.
The conditions of deployment of the lot give the advantages, both in terms of topography and its limits, the location of Lake House emphasizes the creation of dominant visual axis in the direction of the immediate surroundings of the lake. Indeed, the service areas protect strategically, social areas, occupying the most disadvantaged local deployment.
An arrangement space near the entrance, shows the closed correlation between the zone and the interior of the house, emphasizing the interaction between the lay of the land and housing program definition. Investing still in the gradual transition between the inside and outside, the terrace is aimed to create a natural extension of the living area, promoting ongoing dialogue with the environment and flexibility in the proposed appropriation of different spaces. On the other hand, the materiality chosen characteristic of the region, emphasizes once again the demand for integration of housing in the specific context of urbanization of Aroeira.
