To help prevent or reduce the speed of global warming, adding a green open space with a garden on the top of houses, buildings, hotels and offices is one effective way. Although the condition of the urban region largely filled by a skyscraper building, the designers (architects, and landscape architect) must create a green open space to add plants that have been taken over when the building was constructed.
Architekton has designed The Lake Residence, a two levels minimalist home with wonderful surroundings view. Located in Tempe, this house is in the region of 30 years old Lakes community. The desire for as much exterior yard on a relatively small lot (approx 65′ x 125′) led to an efficient stacking of two levels with a footprint of approx 25′ x 55′. The exception to the stacking is a ground face cmu clad “container” which is a tandem four-car garage on the south which slips through the envelope becoming kitchen, utility room and master bath, and dramatically cantilevers to the north as the master bedroom.

Busca Vida House was phenomenal project from Andre Luque in 2007. Located in Camaçari, northern coast of Bahia, Brazil, this house was built to connect with the surroundings environment. Mainly the existing vegetation was preserved by the owner and architect as a part of this project. Only one small tree was removed from the site. The house was utilizing natural ventilation and sun light through large glass panels.
